  Crustaceans usually have a segmented body, extended skeleton and jointed limbs.

Crustaceans belong to the very important group of the arthropods, a subgroup of the invertebrates, and cover more than half of all species of the animal kingdom. They include marine and freshwater animals such as lobsters, crabs, shrimp, crayfish (also called crawfish), barnacles, Hermit crab, but also land invertebrates like the land crab, fom Central and South America.

Crustaceans are closely related to insects.
